Russian artist and producer Evgenii calls in to talk about his minimalistic, dystopian ambient project Digital Moss. He is part of the incredible Russian band "I am waiting for you last summer". This is a deep podcast where we talk about sci-fiction books (e.g. Stanislav’s “Return From The Stars”). (Russian) modular synthesizers, video animations, the way he produces his electronic sounds, and conceives music. Evgenii also shares some thoughts on his vision of the future of music among many other interesting topics.

The subject in episode 4 is Mary & The Highwalkers, a cool band from Warsaw, Poland that serves an original mix of sludge, stoner and black metal. They describe themselves as Blackened Sludge. A quartet in the classic composition of guitar, bass and drums + a intense and frightening female vocal straight from Russia. I talked with Piotr (drums) and Mateusz (bass) about the music scene in Poland, discuss some technical aspects of their equipment & gear that allow them to create and deliver their distinctive deep, dark intense sound among many other cool stories. In this episode, Ivan talks on the phone with Daniel Yount, drummer and songwriter of the New York Afrofunk group Kaleta and Super Yamba Band. Daniel shares his experience of playing and recording with Leon Ligan-Majek a.k.a. Kaleta, who is the singer/guitarist of the band. Kaleta lived in Nigeria, the place where Afrobeat was born and played guitar for the King of Afrobeat Fela Kuti through the 80s and 90s. The conversation covers subjects ranging from how musicians are dealing with the Covid19 pandemic to details and stories around their debut album "Medaho" which was released by California indie label Ubiquity Records and included on Bandcamp’s “Best Albums of Summer 2019.” Enjoy listening to more stories on this very special afrofunky episode.

In this episode, Ivan has a fantastic chat with the Australian Queen of Funk, Soul and Disco Kylie Auldist. She is the soulful voice behind the worldwide summer hit "This Girl" (Kungs vs. Cookin on 3 Burners). She is also the vocalist of Australian funk masters groups The Bamboos and Cookin' on 3 Burners. Her gifted, soulful voice has been compared to the likes of Diana Ross and Sharon Jones. We have a lot of fun sharing stories and talking about music.
