Ivancast Podcast - The first multilingual podcast of Ecuador recorded in the Amazonian rainforest. In this episode, Ivan talks on the phone with Daniel Yount, drummer and songwriter of the New York Afrofunk group Kaleta and Super Yamba Band. Daniel shares his experience of playing and recording with Leon Ligan-Majek a.k.a. Kaleta, who is the singer/guitarist of the band. Kaleta lived in Nigeria, the place where Afrobeat was born and played guitar for the King of Afrobeat Fela Kuti through the 80s and 90s. The conversation covers subjects ranging from how musicians are dealing with the Covid19 pandemic to details and stories around their debut album "Medaho" which was released by California indie label Ubiquity Records and included on Bandcamp’s “Best Albums of Summer 2019.” Enjoy listening to more stories on this very special afrofunky episode.
